Died: 732, on the is­land of Hie­ris­sus, near Mi­ty­lene.

Andrew be­came a monk at Mar Sa­ba, Is­ra­el, and served lat­er at the Ho­ly Se­pul­cher in Je­ru­sa­lem. Around 685, he be­came a dea­con at Ha­gia So­phia in Con­stant­i­no­ple. He al­so ran a re­fuge that took in or­phans and cared for the el­der­ly. In 692, he be­came Arch­bi­shop of Gor­ty­na, Crete.
