Daughter of F. W. Dib­din, Laura was a Sis­ter of the So­phia Wards in the Lon­don Hos­pi­tal, and a lec­tur­er on li­ter­a­ry and so­cial sub­jects. She mar­ried Thom­as Chant of Bridge­wa­ter in 1877.
