Son of a Con­gre­ga­tion­al min­is­ter, Ford be­came pas­tor of the Con­gre­ga­tion­al Church at Lym­ing­ton in 1821; Tra­vel­ing Sec­re­ta­ry to the Con­gre­ga­tion­al Un­ion in 1841; and pas­tor of Greens­gate Cha­pel, Sal­ford, Man­ches­ter, in 1843. His works in­clude:
