Born: June 25, 1799, Pusey, Berkshire, England.
Died: July 9, 1855, Christ Church, Oxford, England.
Pusey’s family name was originally Bouverie, but his father (son of the first Viscount Folkestone) changed it after inheriting the Pusey estate. Philip attended Eton and Christ Church at Oxford University. He became a Member of Parliament and patron of the arts, helped found the London Library, and had an ardent interest in hymnology.
