Störl was a chor­is­ter in the Stuttgart Hof­ka­pel­le (Court Cha­pel). He stu­died un­der Pach­el­bel in Nürn­berg (1697), and in Vi­en­na under Fisch­er (1701). After trav­el to Ve­nice, Flor­ence and Rome, he re­turned to Stutt­gart, and be­came the Hof­ka­pell­meist­er (1704) and Stifts­or­gan­ist (1707).
