A mem­ber of the Bap­tist de­nom­in­a­tion, Hearn lived in Farn­ing­ham, North­amp­ton, and Graves­end. Her lit­er­ary work was done chief­ly in con­nect­ion with the Christ­ian World news­pa­per, hav­ing joined the staff at its be­gin­ning. She al­so ed­it­ed the Sun­day School Times.
