Henry Baker

1835-1910

Born: June 6, 1835, Nuneham, Oxfordshire, England.

Died: February 1, 1910, Wimbledon, England.

Son of James Baker, Chancellor of the Diocese of Durham, Henry was educated at Winchester, Cooper’s Hill, and Exeter College, Oxford (BMus 1867). He worked as a civil engineer, especially in building railroads in India. He is sometimes confused with Henry Williams Baker (1821-1877).
